  • Afterschool Marilyn can be found either in the gymnasium or the school field with the rest of the cheerleader squad during practice. Starting at 4PM. Giving her a small window to socialize after school.

  • She's at cheer practice every day save for Friday's. She walks home from school, with practice ending around 5PM - Marilyn discovered that reading on her commute to and from school makes it go by faster.

  • Please keep in mind that Marilyn is a popular student amongst the populous of Derry High. Our muses may not know each other but there is a good chance our muses may have heard OF one another! Derry is a small town.

HISTORY

 biography  Born into a family with both parents, and an elder brother. While Marilyn blossomed into a social butterfly in high school, at home, her story began as a wallflower, a stark contrast to the vibrant persona she'd cultivate later.Marilyn lives in a large house down on West Broadway, with all the other rich folk in town. Her next door neighbor being Sawyer Thomas, a boy who'd been her best friend growing up, as well as the son of the priest of a local catholic church.
Sawyer and Marilyn had been close friends, Marilyn was always his 'girl next door' and inevitably, Sawyer found himself falling in love with her. The two spending late nights sneaking out to one another's balconies and laying under the stars. Sawyer shared with her his insecurities about being an unfit son — and Marilyn about feeling inferior.During Jr High, Marilyn had a friend group with Stacy Jennings, Gretta Keene, and Sally Mueller — as well as a few other classmates. Victor Criss, before his involvement in the Bowers Gang was someone she'd been acquaintances with as well .Marilyn's brother would enlist in the military during her teenage years and after he'd graduated from Derry High. Even while deployed overseas, he seemed to occupy more space in her families conversations than Marilyn ever could. Her parents doted on him — their faces lighting up at every mention of a letter or package from him. Marilyn, meanwhile, felt like an afterthought, a supporting character in her brother's heroic narrative.At a young age, Marilyn took part in many extracurricular activities; Ballet being what she was most passionate about. in jr high, Marilyn's recital took place after landing the role of Odette in Swan Lake, and while looking amongst the crowd her parents had been no where to be found. Although she expected it, the disappointment was crushing. Marilyn recognized that nothing she'd do would ever capture their attention.

Shortly after, Marilyn quit all together, it started by sneaking off during practices before skipping out all together. She'd tried to find other passions, for awhile she took up figure skating — desperate to achieve any sort of reaction from her family. Marilyn struggled with her identity; wanting to please her family with achievements while struggling to find something that truly defined herself.Before Jr high school ended, a large argument broke out in the friend group between Gretta Keene and Stacy Jennings; over a boy of all things. It was a pointless, petty argument — especially because neither girl ended up dating the boy in the end; but at the time it was enough to cause enough of a rift in the friend group. Gretta and Sally branched off together, and Marilyn stuck with Stacy.In high school, Marilyn was quickly popular; her naturally soft features and blonde hair helped her stand out. She was always rumored to be growing ahead of the other girls her age - and while the attention was nothing a young girl like her needed at her age; attention was attention, and it was something she craved deeply.Marilyn was humble, for the most part, but as her story progresses she becomes more acutely aware that she has a natural beauty many other girls seem to envy. She allows herself to become vain.

She was quickly admitted to the cheer team, her looks as well as her background in dance assured her a space on the team. And Marilyn rose to popularity quickly after that. Treated like a doll by the other girls her age. Marilyn would flourish with all the attention she desperately wanted, but for some reason or another it felt hallow and unsatisfying.Cheer however, took most of her recreation time, and figure skating slowly faded out of the picture all together; the attention from cheer drowning out the passion she had ignited for skating.Despite her busy schedule Marilyn would always find time for Sawyer — coming to his band practices and being their unofficial official mascot.The yearning for her parents' approval remained a constant ache. The more she sought it, the more elusive it seemed.
This was when Marilyn started going to parties, and drinking despite her age - acting out for some sort of reaction from her family.
Their indifference only deepened the wound, and it was around then that her friend Sawyer had started smoking and making money off of what his older rock friends would give him. cheap beer, cigarettes, even weed became easily accessible for him. And thus, became easily accessible to Marilyn as well.It wasn't until Sawyer saw such a drastic change in Marilyn did he finally feel guilty. Refusing to supply to her any longer. It caused a huge rift between the two, Marilyn reacting impulsively and blaming him for being the sole reason she started smoking and drinking in the first place. Their once solid bond becoming fractured and Marilyn stopped going to his practices all together.

Marilyn was never afraid of Bowers, partially because she had scary dog privellege with the jocks of derry high at her disposal... but partially because she never had any reason to be at odds with him in the first place.
she'd slid Henry her answers once when she'd noticed he was struggling during one of their tests.
Beyond that, their conversations have been mostly one sided.

Belch Huggins

An unfortunate assigned partnership during a history project; Marilyn figured she'd be working solo on the project, and purely out of spite Belch committed to the the assignment. They would take turns at one another's house after school, and what started with a lot of bickering - turned into banter. Which led into friendship.
Belch taught her that there is actually good music out there. Even if it is loud for her tastes.
Mrs Huggins adores her.
Although the first few rides in his car had been a little awkward - if not tense.

victor and marilyn had a few friends in common during middle school . before vic became more involved with his friendship with henry and the rest of the gang , and before she became a member of the cheer squad .
marilyn remembers vic before his blonde hair; and before he found enjoyment in picking on others, too.
Although the two were never exceptionally close.

 patrick hockstetter Marilyn doesn't know much about Patrick, she shares Biology with him, and he regularly skips. Although the same couldn't be said once anatomy and dissection came into play; then he came into class daily. Eagerly, even.
Something about Patrick scares her, beyond being in a gang, and beyond his crude behaviour.
